Who We Are — and What We’re Fixing
Why Therapy Without Borders Exists
Across the United States, mental health care still stops at state lines.
Not because therapy stops working.
Not because patients want to change providers.
Not because clinicians aren’t qualified.
But because our licensing system treats geography as more important than continuity of care.
Every year, millions of people—especially young people—cross state lines for college, work, family, military service, or opportunity. When they do, they often lose access to the therapist who knows them best. Progress stalls. Trust has to be rebuilt. Care gets delayed or dropped entirely.
Therapy Without Borders exists to fix this—by modernizing mental health policy so care can follow people wherever life takes them.
Our goal is straightforward:
Get every state into the relevant interstate compacts—and get those compacts enacted and working as intended.
